Journey to Jellystone #2 - Waller, Texas

Hello all,

We recently completed our second journey in our wonderful Wilma Winnebago this past weekend. We decided to visit another Jellystone because the kids had such a blast and wanted to do something special for Brielle's upcoming birthday. This trip we visited the Jellystone in Waller, Texas.

Bec and I were so eek'd with excitement because we kept this trip a surprise for the kids. We even kept our normal routine going the whole week until Thursday, November 21st. We told Addie and Bri-Bri that maybe they could stay home with us Friday to get an early start on the weekend. As you can imagine, that was gold in their hearts but they still had no idea, lol!

I wondered if Addie might have caught on a bit because I was working on the motor home during the week, tidying up a few small projects and cleaning it up. She get's especially excited when I tell her we can wash the RV, hahaha! It is a lot of work though, but I really enjoy it. I probably won't enjoy waxing it so much though, lol!

This trip was a bit easier than the first but we are still learning. Turns out we need to add salad tongs and an ice cream scoop to our utensils, haha! Oops. Friday around lunch we decided to let the cat out of the bag and ask Addie and Bri to get a few things ready and I mentioned to Addie to grab a few Barbies because I packed their camper. Her face lit up with joy and confusion. Bec asked her if there was anywhere special she wanted to go. I gave her a hint that it started with a J. She knew and was so excited! She asked if our new to us puppy could go and we responded, of course! Sir Jack Scotland had a blast too! Clearly by the pictures, lol!

The park had their annual apple harvest but we missed it because we mostly did our own thing with the kids and our camping buddies. It was also pretty chilly but the kids did have a blast. I liked the Waller location but as an honest review, I still like Canyon Lake over Waller. The park was pretty low key so that was nice, we basically had our own spots all to ourselves in the back section. We were a bit bummed because the glitter tattoos were scheduled for Saturday and we were a tad late but because park attendance was low they cancelled it, that was rather sad. Such is so I suppose.

I hope you enjoy the pictures here's some additional information for future campers wanting to know where we camped:

Location: Jellystone Waller, Texas

Spot: 538

Rating: Good

Tom Stars: 3 out 5

Hookups: 50/30/20 connections

Sewer: Clean / Sewer pipe above ground significantly which caused sewer hose to kink and slope upward at discharge end. Not ideal. Had to walk hose from hose cradle to fully empty into sewer.

Water: Clean / Easy to connect

Cable: Not available

Notes:

Spot 538 is decent for parking access but the layout is a bit confusing. Spot 537 had several tree limbs hit our friends camper. During peak times this may not be a spot with complete privacy. You are directly in front of a cabin that may not appreciate your smoke from the fire ring or noise from your activities during normal hours. I recommend looking at any of the spots along the lake which offer more privacy and a chance to unwind a bit more.

Happy travels!

- Tom
